Face it : The irresponsibly successful Taylor Swift effortlessly SLAYS your faves every single time. This time around, the woman is on the verge of creating history y’all. The country/pop chanteuse is set to debut atop the Billboard 200 Albums with her 4th studio album ‘Red’ with estimated first week sales of over 1 million units in the US alone!

This is the second time Swift will be posting such massive first-week sales, as her previous album ‘Speak Now’ sold over a million units in its first week as well. Swift thus becomes the first woman in the SoundScan era (post 1991) to achieve this feat of posting a million plus in first week sales more than once! I’m not exactly a Taylor fanatic, but I’ll definitely include her self titled debut album as one of my fave albums of all time – especially since she was all country back then. Ever since she hopped aboard the country-pop bandwagon, her fame sky-rocketed to unprecedented heights, but I’d prefer her country sound any day.

‘Red’ is Taylor’s most diverse album till date, and I must say the album’s definitely one of the best albums I’ve heard this year. Especially since there are a handful of old school country songs that harks back to Taylor’s sound when she arrived on the scene. ‘Begin Again’ is a lush country ballad that deals with an all too familiar theme – a break-up. This time around though, Taylor sings about a her apprehensions on her first date with someone new post a painful break-up, and the result is a well crafted song that subtly chronicles the vulnerability of the situation. It could have easily been a majorly sloppy mush-fest, just that it’s not. Swift’s growing up y’all. Check her out mending her broken heart by living everybody’s fantasy of falling in love in Paris in the video for ‘Begin Again’ right here:
