<Review by: Sailesh Ghelani>

The trailer of this film looked pretty crappy and having Channing Tatum in it didn’t help but I was pleasantly awe struck by the brilliant CGI, costumes and the sci-fi adventure of Jupiter Ascending and actually loved it.

Here’s our review of the film:

Jupiter Ascending – Actually quite fun

1)   Jupiter Jones: Destiny Is Written Within Us

In this feature, Mila Kunis and Director/Writer Lana Wachowski talk about the movie and the philosophy behind the story about searching for meaning in your life. There’s some inspiration here from Cinderella in how Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis) goes from scrubbing toilets to saving the universe.

This feature could have been a bit more interesting

2)   Jupiter Ascending: Genetically Spliced

This 10 minute extra starts off by talking about the weird and wonderful characters in the film that are genetically spliced beings that form hybrids: like an elephant-man, an android and Caine’s (Channing Tatum) half-man half wolf. Sci-fi meets VFX to create some fantastic creatures in a splendid backdrop of impressive CGI sets and marvellous costumes. There’s also a glimpse into how they shot the completely CGI characters with motion capture and a seven-foot-seven man. Fascinating and we’d have liked some more.
