Baby B finally arrived on Nov 16th amidst bated breath and after months of avoiding the media and hiding her baby bump under voluminous anarkalis, Aishwarya did a quick photo op for the media, before Amitabh Bachchan and proud father Abhishek led the press conference. Here’s looking at what the new parents wore to welcome their bundle of joy.

Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan

I don’t hate either of their looks, but fail to understand the lack of colour. Aishwarya chooses yet again an Abu–Sandeep anarkali, understandably to hide any traces of fat. However, the dull cream colour just pales her out. I love the pink chikankari dupatta that salvages the look. The silver gota work and the pink detailing on the kurta, as well as the base do nothing for Ash. She’s again forgiven for the heinous choice of footwear, because she’s choosing comfort over fashion. But there are better looking flats she could have picked over these tacky, streetwear-type chappals. Mojris or prettier sandals in gold would have complemented the look perfectly. Ash, as always, rocks the no-makeup look. The straight hair, eyeliner and gloss make her oh-so-beautiful.

Abhishek, on the other hand, looks like he’s ready to say his prayers. After all, four women in the family is intimidating for any man! The bandhgala neck on the kurta is cool, but that’s where it ends! Abhishek should stick to his stubble, the clean-shaven look makes him boyish and not in a good way.

It sure must have been cold inside the hospital; an ice maiden giving birth to another one could lead to ice storms, but that doesn’t explain why Amitabh Bachchan has draped his shawl so badly around himself. Also, isn’t the kurta too short and best suited for night wear?!
