Shaman’s Apprentice was awarded the best Canadian short film at TIFF 20212. The film is an animated feature as well as a book. We had the great privilege of interviewing Lucy Tulugarjuk who has done a voice over for this film. Shaman’s Apprentice is a story rooted in the Canadian Indigenous or First Nations culture in the northern parts of Canada. Within this interview, Minority-Review’s Swati Sharan discusses with Lucy the quest for preserving Indigenous heritage through film, feasibility of a more sustainable Canadian film industry and the cultural roots of the story.
