The Avengers

So here it is the new Joss Whedon directed The Avengers full-length trailer showing you more than you’ve seen in the past few. You get to see Bruce Banner turn into the Hulk, Thor fighting with Iron Man and Captain America, Loki terrorising the Earth and a strange looking Transformers-type robot serpent battling the assembled super heroes. Take a look:

Okay, so what’s stand out here? The Hulk. That strange beast that has done so badly on the big screen with actors Eric Bana and Edward Norton each giving it a shot. The reason, in my opinion, has always been the CGI Hulk. Totally cold and you can’t relate to him. Which is why Lou Ferrigno’s Hulk in the original TV series was so popular: he was pumped up flesh, rippling green muscles and a real live hulk. BUT, in this new trailer even though Mark Ruffalo plays banner turning into another CGI Hulk, I noticed how much more human they’ve made him. The features, the realistic size he takes on, not too big, not too small, just right. Oh and good ol’ Lou Ferrigno is voicing the Hulk! Yay!!

The Hulk and Black Widow

The Hulk saves Iron Man

Of course there is conflict within the group of super egos. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is seen pummeling first Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man and then Chris Evans’s Captain America. Scarlette Johansson as Black Widow looks sexy as hell and when she tells Bruce Banner to come with her and that she’ll ‘persuade him’, all sorts of devilish things run through your mind (well at least mine!). Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye doesn’t feature too much.

Stand off

Thor trashing Cap

Tom Hiddleston as Loki from Thor’s universe is the baddie and he looks quite menacing. That weird mechanical monstrosity at the end of the trailer is Odin knows what but it reminds me of something out The Transformers.

Loki

Special appearance by... Transformers?

Oh and one last thing: Apparently, Spider-Man will be making a guest appearance in the film! (After watching the film, this piece of info has been proven wrong, but maybe he’ll be there in the next Avengers film).
